Macking

Cockatoos have this really sweet behavior, colloquially called "macking," that they do when they're feeling ultra-affectionate and blissed-out. They shake and make this noise like a sneeze or a sob. Lots of people rush their Toos to the vet the first time it happens, because they think it's a seizure or breathing trouble.

My theory about macking is that it's a juvenile behavior that persists into adulthood. It doesn't seem to be mating-related (unlike the thing where a male Too holds your thumb in his beak and rapidly kicks his foot against it--that is the step right before an attempt at mating with your hand).
