Social Behavior in Pandinus Imperator: The Google Search

I thought I was foolishly anthropomorphizing when I started thinking about the way the scorpions lie together with telsons completely relaxed, in a way that people would easily label "affection" if expressed between furred vertebrates, but it appears I was onto something. Something weird, something that Shouldn't Be: social behavior in primitive arachnids.

Here is the link: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=pandinus+social

This piece: http://www.pandinusimperator.nl/EN/biology_EN.htm about molting scorps who are guarded by colony-mates, is really neat! This behavior implies a level of communication and cooperation that rivals vertebrates like sticklebacks!

Let that sink in for a moment. Arthropods--arachnids--exhibiting a level of social complexity equal to some vertebrates. If that doesn't suggest similar software running on divergent hardware, I don't know what does.
