The ducklings came inside today
This morning, the brood of Muscovy ducklings came into my apartment and vacuumed the floor around Giant Bird's cage. Then they nibbled on my fingers for a while and I hugged one of the braver ones, whose outsized web-feet went pato pato against my chest as I held him. It was fun.

"Pato pato" eh? "Duck duck" en espanol!
Every time I hear the word "pato" I think of the sound of ducks' feet. I wonder if the word itself is onomotopoeic?
